    This is a role focused on adding value to the Retail organization through data insights and analyses. This position will be highly involved in the deep analytics of retail network performance as well as play a key role in the design, analysis and implementation of the 3-year Retail network strategy.  Oportun retail is the dominant channel that our customers love.  A successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence the company’s growth story by building out an optimal retail footprint and making it even more efficient.  The role will have very high levels of visibility with the senior most leaders of the retail organization. Environment will be fast paced, adjusting for business needs while delivering on high impact work regularly.



    • Work closely with leaders across the organization to figure out the scope and breadth of the business questions at hand
    • Use data and analytics to deliver insights to drive Retail business decisions
    • Ensure all analyses tell an appropriate story which enables insights and creates a path for action
    • Design, implement and evaluate tests and programs with the final objective of gathering learnings and positively impacting the Retail organization
    • Design the reporting needed to track results
    • Proactively identify areas of opportunity that impact operational efficiency, production and/or customer experience
    • Build and own key relationships, collaborate and understand how to present analysis as a catalyst for decision making



    • S. or M.S. in business-related or quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or similar discipline)
    • 3+ years of experience in analytics or business strategy
    • SQL (in-depth querying); SAS and Python are a plus
    • Ability to demonstrate basic financial and business acumen (e.g., understands NPV, LTV, ROE, etc.)
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills with clearly demonstrated results
    • Advanced knowledge of Statistical Methods for model building
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel
    • Detail and results oriented, absolute self-starter and strategic thinker
